This weekend it's the Maritime Ipswich festival, which is in its 2nd year. I went last year and it was great fun! But it rained quite hard towards the end, so I went home a bit early. I'm hoping to go for a cruise on the "Orwell Lady" again - I didn't get a brilliant seat last year and couldn't hear the tour guide very well, plus I got rained on. Bleh.
The weekend of the 8th and 9th is the Heritage Open Days. For the last 2 years running, I ended up being on-call on the saturday of this weekend - I remember because I always want to go into Pykenham's Gatehouse, and it's never open on the sunday! This year I planned ahead and made sure I wasn't on call that weekend. XD The sunday looks quite interesting, too - RAF Station Martlesham Heath is open.
And one of the girls in the department is organising a trip to Pleasurewood Hills in Great Yarmouth in september. It's an "American style" theme park (although I'm not sure why they needed the "American Style" bit in there. ¬_¬) and I think the last time I went, I must have been... no more than 15, or so. They've supposedly got a load of new rides, so it should be good.
And of course, they're planning the next pharmacy Christmas markets trip. They're hoping to organise a trip on the Eurostar to Belgium, this year, which sounds pretty exciting. XD
Lastly...
I just saw this posted on one of the LJ communities I follow. Amused me how my reaction was so different to the other posters XD.
Someone's describing their sales pitch for a product they sell from one of those promo tables in a supermarket. Essentially, it goes:
'Come check out these Mediterranean-style foccacia-based pizzas. They're low-fat, low-calorie, ready-made so you just "heat and eat". They take 2 minutes in the oven or 40 seconds in the microwave. They also freeze for up to six months and stay good in the fridge for up to one month, or they also keep thawed for up to two days.'
My thoughts: O_o what, are they made of plastic or something?!
Other commenters on community: "OMG they sound sooo delish! I would buy a million where can you get them from?"
