Story: Over thr course of the last week or so, I have spotted the occasional caterpillar in my kitchen (four, by my last count) - crawling up the wall and across the ceiling. I have hunted high and low for the source of these wretched bugs - thinking oh gawd, they're not clothes moths or something...
At last! Tonight, I have solved the mystery.
They were in the big bag of peanuts I bought to feed the birds. O_o I opened it and put some in the big feeded, folded the top closed and held it shut with one of those plastic bag-closure clips, put it away, and forgot about it. The caterpillars have been eating the peanuts, emerging from the bag, crawling out of the cupboard and then up the wall, but because there's so few of them and I only saw them on the wall, I had no idea they'd be emerging from a SEALED BAG OF PEANUTS.
How the heck did they get IN there, anyway? I suppose some delightful small insect laid them before they sealed the bag up to be sold.
