Maaaaagpie. Dauntless, transformed!
Or... something... yes. Well, she's already self-aware and projects herself by hologram, this was the logical next step! :D
It's just a shame she's so freakin' HUGE.
I could make a pun about her being shipshape, but I won't. I know, I got a couple of bits wrong way round, but eh, I was watching TV at the time, not referencing any of it...

Notes, nootes. For #14 ''Darkling''. Mediciney-oriented, hurrah. )

I need to update my ElJay icons later, too. Hrm. Wonder how quick I'll get THAT done. </sarcasm>

This post requires that I add something important before I start it, so this is me adding it...

...Because I've actually added a NEW, NEVER BEFORE SEEN chapter of Avocet. I'm nowhere near being over my writer's block, but eh, I'm getting there.

There. Now THAT's out of the way I can get on with the post itself.

First some arts! AGAIN trying to carry off a drawing I've already done half a dozen times in the past... )

And now for something completely different!

''Ride the Avocet'', chapter 18! )

We now return you to your scheduled broadcast.

Been thinking about making some of those "Moo" cards for PROPER, since I applied for the promo pack of 10. Working on a "Windchaser" design (you know, like my website, dark green with yellow text and etc?), but thinking I made my text too small - I mean, these cards are pretty wee, ne? (I haven't actually GOT the free cards yet*, but I was bored at work one lunchtime and made a template to show how unbig they are.) Don't want the writing to be all illegibles. Anyway. Anyone got any ideas for what I should put on 'em?

So far, these are the ''Windchaser'' designs... )

(* I've been hearing good things about these cards and WOULD like to have a set to use a bit like unusual business-cards. I might get some proper business cards done at some point. But this is all once them free ones have arrived, anyway... blah. I got in towards the end of the promotion, because I don't have a paid journal and only found out about it when all the other free ones did, so of course mine are still held up in "printing", and have been since 25th May. Ohwell.)

And in other news, have some other artings (cut for space) )

Thoughts on Synthetics.

Just been thinking about "Kirasiinu" and their "relatives". Pulled together some new words and new terms, finally got the ideas I've had circling for weeks down on paper.

Words, words, words. Kirasiinu, Lerisiinu, Leriisamu, Umasiinu, Umasamu... etc. Wordy and boring, but eh. )

Edit: Just a small update to the "Kirasiinu" section. Some more thoughts.

Siinueri. (pic) )

Edit: Update! Sei's little "personal project" has now acquired a name: she is "Mirii" (pronounced a little like "Marie"). Pics later! Yay. Well, pic of her after he'd painted her, anyway, as right now in my notes she's still a "blank canvas", a really pure brilliant white. Working on a drawing of the "in-progress" bit (the actual Sei-with-paintbrush bit), so far dubbed "Masterpiece". Whee!

Still need to think of a name for the cob that later adopts Mirii, though. The pen is "Aemi" (like "Ay-eemi", but one syllable), but her husband (a retired military commander) is giving me problems. I may have to fire up the "random word generator."

I have more artly stupids to be uploading! But first! Because the part of the "comic" I isolated to use as a thumbnail is so stupid, I just wanted to see if anyone could guess what it was about... If anyone was wondering, yes, that is Iios' face. He seems to lend himself so very readily to incredible stupidity.
Have fun.

Edit: Thinking about it, I'm fairly sure everyone's going to be guite disappointed with the answer. But eh, whatever.

Just as a passing thing, I found this CD (scroll down to "Bombay Mix") in "the Wharf" (sells all kinds of New Agey candles and tie-dye clothes and World Music and stuff - not usually my thing but eh, whatever) in Ipswich, and I love it. :) It's so completely the sort of thing I hear in my brain when thinking of my little worlds.

"Bombay Mix"

Edit: haha, the sampler for the Egypt CD reminds me of the kind of soundtrack they'd play on some kind of 1960s James Bond film. I may have to get it when I next go into town, solely for that reason. ;) Good inspirations! Yay. The "African Voices" is quite cool too - reminds me of Xniki. And this one would be much more enjoyable if I didn't instantly think of the Macarena.

"Dale a tu cuerpo, Alegria Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa darle, Alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo, Alegria Macarena
Eh, Macarena! AI! *does the Macarena*"

Edit: So okay, it WAS a passing thing until I started listening to the other samplers. :P And I'm loving those steel drums.
