BioI am me. Make of that what you will. :)
In real life, I'm a pharmacist; I work 08:30-5 at the local hospital, Monday to Friday. I seem to be continually awake; "switching off" is not something I fnd easy to do, and after "proper work" I often go home and work on my projects. (And people wonder why I'm knackered all the time!)
Eccentric is my middle name; I like the surreal, the strange, and I like to confer human tendencies on things that clearly don't have them, like my PC and the dispensary robot (well, come on, they do such goddamned strange things at times, and we seem to always be "babying" them...). I suffer obsessions easily - and I tend to go in cycles, a few months at a time then onto a new one, but hey, I'll always go back and revist a previous obsession, so if I drop something without finishing I'm sure I'll come back to it a few months later. ;) There's a few "constants" in my life, anyway - I like foxes (don't all groan at once), robots, "synthetic intelligence" (my synonym for AI, since AI always sounds so ... fake), writing, and designing worlds and creatures to live in them. I don't like random acts of cruelty, I don't like "selective quoting" (where you only quote a part of a sentence to make it look like you're oh-so-right) and I don't like fire (fire engines and fire alarms freak me out sometimes). *twitch* But hey, that's life for you, full of oddities.
Windchaser's Earth (my little website) is a good place to get a measure of what makes me tick. My likes continually cycle - some things that occupy my thoughts constantly some days may be completely absent for another eternity... but I usually go back to them.
The Dauntless galaxy is my "pet" series, my labour of love, populated by dozens of species of my own creation and the characters to whom I feel "closest", and which I'm always working on in the background even if I don't post a whole lot.
Lastly... I'm a fairly easygoing sort of person, I guess. :) I like to have peoples' comments - good, bad whatever! - on stuff, so I allow anon commenting on my journal, and there's not a lot goes under a friends' lock.
Yes, I DO use a variety of instant messaging services, but after a recent episode with a "very slightly stalkerish" individual I've took them down. If you want to know my contacts, please email me. (I don't like to do it, but c'mon, the dude's been messaging me on EVERY SINGLE SERVICE I USE.)
