AAAARTS

(Yes, I reused the same picture that I used last time. Live with it. :P)
More exciting* arts! Stained Glass mythical beasties to start with...

No, they're not all none are finished, but I felt obliged to POST STUFFS and it's almost 2am so GO FIGURE. I need to get some of my beasties printed off to stick in envelopes.

Kelpie (left) and Peryton (right).
I never much liked the whole Kelpie = seahorse/"Loch Ness monster" that a lot of artists have going on, so I tried to go for the traditional idea of the beastie; a normal looking horse, identifiable by shells and seaweed in its mane, etc. Still dithering over what the water should look like. The Peryton is a half-deer half-bird that casts a shadow in the shape of a human when it flies, if I recall correctly; I think they were believed to embody the souls of sailors lost at sea.

Phoenix and dragon.
The phoenix is modelled after the Ancient Egyptian "phoenix", the Bennu, which was a large heron. I thought it was a nice change to the norm. ;) And obviously, the dragon is a dragon. It WAS going to be red, but turned green without any conscious input from me halfway through. (Perhaps it was because my Prisma rack disintegrated (again) and all the red markers fell on the floor, and I decided to keep on with my Copics, of which I have only a few colours, and just not pick the Prismas up?)

Leafy Sea Hippocamp and Enfield
I have no clever thoughts for this one.

OMG, Squeaky, trapped in a tiny little sticker-sized box. *oh noes*
Nowhere near finished, I only scanned this one because I like her little camera-lens eyes and I know I'll futz them when I try ink 'em. :)
Right hand will be carrying her pistol, but I'm not sure what to put in her left hand - plushie Seeker is probably stretching it a bit. ;)

I blame you for this one, _silverfox. Lucy's looking sorta "teenage" here, so... egh. No, he has no name (technically, doesn't EXIST either), although I think "Angle-grinder" would probably suit, if we're thinking of vocalisations...

Lastly is kiiinda an attempt at fanart - this is SUPPOSED to be one of Dreamchylde's characters, Nebula - I have no idea why she's decided to go ground-pounding, but egh. And I have no idea if this is even remotely how her creator envisaged her, and (*shame*) I've not caught up reading her stories, lately, but anyway, hm, yeah. Bad dynamic foreshortening is bad. *hurf* Needs mucho, mucho editing, but egh.
Enough excuses, bad Abi.

We now return you to your scheduled broadcasts.

-------

Unrelated but related, I'm sending my Christmas Cards to the printer tomorrow. I would have sent 'em today but I fell asleep in front of the telly again ¬_¬ and ran out of time to do the vectors. (Lol, Vectors. Vector's what? And what's she doing there, anyway? *ramble*) But! I shall put out the call for addresses very soon (those who had cards last year, I think I have your addresses in my notebook still). :) Don't want to miss the last post!

* - disclaimer: "Exciting" might just be a lie.

Edit: ARGH how HARD is it for you to spell "NOT" and "YOU" today? *flail*

Ooh, whups... That's what happens when you try editing posts when you're not awake. Fixed! :)

Have SO got to get that "can't brain today... have the dumb" icon done.

:)! Love the pictures! Yes, every single one of them, but especially the kelpie, peryton, dragon, enfield and of course the Transformers.

My first thought on seeing teenage Footloose was: "Oh no, I hope someone remembered to tell her about contraception!"
Love "Angle-grinder". :)

Thankles. :) I must finish colouring some of them tonight.

And I juuust noticed I've got Pulsar's face wrong, I missed her "cheekbones". Rargh.

I'm sure the threat of "no we're NOT going to look after any pain-in-the-afterburner little sprogs you produce" would be enough to scare Lucy off babies. ;) Mind you, I don't think her partner (because yes, my subconscious HAS tried to pair her off with someone ALREADY) is the sort to want kids anyway... :\

Yes, but their parents certainly weren't planning on producing any offspring either when they did it ...
