S'funny how much stuff I get done with no internets. *ponders* Went home to my parents for a day, and just sitting there in the garden with my drawing pad on my lap I got a load of drawings started.

Keaalu drew birdies. (Real ones, for once! Well, mostly...) Going to ink and colour them later. I apologise for the Photobucket-shrunken erghs. Kudos to you if you can work out what my pencilled mush is supposed to be OF.

Anyway, first are the "real" birds. Some of my favourite species, hurrah!

Griffinish-things.

This last one is a "mophia" - originally I designed them as a little fish-eating Ondran species, but they've "expanded" a little - this one is a domesticated forest species with a patagium like a flying squirrel. Trying to give it a birdiness without making it too griffiny.

Colours later. I'm going to do them in markers, see if I can try and pull off that "painty", watercoloury look.

Edit: I hate the way the lj-cut always seems to end up smushed into the tags if I don't manually put a linebreak in.

Biiiiiiiiiiiirds. I swear, on the first picture I'd say the one on the right looks like a Kookaburra, but I don't know if they have ornate tails like that. XD I don't think so. The bills read "Kingfisher family" to me, though. (It may just be because I've been looking at kingfisher pictures lately. I should be working on my malachite kingfisher model sheet...)

Yay for not-horribly-mangled-from-stylization wings.

Did I ever tell you I love your marker skills? Mine intimidate me to this day.

Hehe, thanks. I was pleased with how that turned out too. Although I'm not going to touch it with colour until I've got it on a clean sheet of paper, because I know I'll stuff up if I colour the original pencil work.

Aww, they're all so adorable! You have a great eye for rendering creatures with so much cuteness in them. :)

Ehhe, thanks. Although I WAS just trying to get a smidgen of "realism" about 'em - so I guess they're either easy to caricature, or just naturally cute. ;)

*has another drawing she's working on, but that probably won't be posted TOO publically...* ¬_¬
